8 Dimensions of Health and Wellness

Often when we talk about health in the USA we only associate it with eating “healthy” or how you look and feel. In 1976 BIll Hettler created the dimensions of wellness to give us an idea of what our general health is encompassed of.  Below I decided to list a few questions for every dimension of wellness that will get you thinking about your overall health. These questions below are quality journal prompts along with your thoughts about the current place you are and the emotions you carry about your life currently.

 Physical
​Can you sustain your body meeting dietary and nutritional guidelines?
Are you accepting of your body? 
Are you making changes in your health for the longevity of your body?

Emotional 
Are you acknowledging your feelings? 
Do you allow your feelings to be present without judgment? 

Intellectual
Is your mind being stimulated?
Are you learning? 

Spiritual
Do you have a quality personal relationship with your God or Deity?
Do you have a routine created that allows you to engage/ celebrate/ or practice no matter the circumstance?
Is it helping you find your purpose or meaning in life?

Occupational
Are you happy or fulfilled?
 Are you in good job health?
What fulfills you that allows you to make money?

Social
Do you feel connected to people?
Do you know what you expect out of socialization?
What news skills do you want to develop to connect to people more?

Environmental
How do you feel about where you reside? 
Can you be yourself and do what you want?
Do you feel secure and safe?

Financial
Do you have the money you want?
Do you have the money you need?Have you set your moral and ethical boundaries so you don't lose yourself trying to make money?
